In this strategic executive leadership role, you will report directly to the CEO as you manage the development and execution of commercial, marketing, and business partnership strategies for a dynamic, innovative company in the global payment network, card issuing, and commercial travel space. You will hold P&L responsibility and directly manage the VP-level leaders of each of three commercial business units: Global Network Sales, Alternative Forms of Payment, and Marketing & Communications. If you have a demonstrated track record of achievement in leading commercial teams (sales, marketing, and/or business development) within a major credit card network, Fintech company, bank, payment service provider (PSP), payment gateway, travel payment or corporate travel management organization, this could be an excellent opportunity for you to take your career to the next level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the company’s commercial, marketing, and business partnership strategies for charge card and alternative forms of payment processing
- Lead the Global Network Sales, Alternative Forms of Payment, and Marketing & Communications teams in pursuit of overall corporate goals
- Manage team to ensure that individual targets and goals are achieved to support broader corporate objectives
- Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans and forecasts that will enable the company to achieve its long-term objectives
- Develop and manage operating budgets and sales strategies across key market segments to ensure that the company identifies and optimizes a clear path to aggressive growth
- Ensure effective control of commercial results and take corrective action to guarantee that achievement of company objectives falls within designated targets and budgets
- Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with customers, partners, prospects, and travel industry executives
- Represent the company at industry events and serve on committees and task forces as appropriate
- Serve as the senior advisor to the President & CEO on all strategic commercial matters
- Travel up to fifty percent (50%) of the time, domestically and internationally; trips may be overnight, week-long, with the possibility of weekend travel on occasion
Ideal Background:
- 10+ years’ experience leading commercial teams (sales and marketing, and/or business development), with at least five years with a major credit card network, Fintech company, bank, payment service provider (PSP), payment gateway, travel payment organization or corporate travel management
- MBA
- Excellent public speaking and written communication skills
- Fluency (written and verbal) in English; additional language skills are a plus
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful commercial strategies
- Ability to influence, engage, and motivate a diverse, global team to great performance
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, proposal development, solution design, and proficiency in technical solution demonstrations
- Proven analytical ability and able to translate hard numerical data into actionable insight
- Successful track record of moving projects through upper levels of management within complex and highly-matrixed organizations
- Must thrive in a consultative, team-based sales environment and able to work cross-departmentally
- Ability and willingness to travel up to fifty percent (50%) of the time, domestically and internationally (Trips may be overnight, week-long, with the possibility of weekend travel on occasion.)
- Ability and willingness to conduct business outside of normal business hours to accommodate global business operations
- Reside in the continental US, in or within one hour of a major metropolitan airport hub
