As Electronic Payments Manager, you will oversee and direct the assigned products, systems, and services for ACH and Wires, including new implementations and enhancements, issue monitoring and resolution, vendor management, risk assessment, team monitoring and performance reviews. You will provide high-level customer service to businesses, payments partners, consumers, and internal customers. This position requires in-depth knowledge of the Bank’s ACH and Wire processes and the interactions of ACH and Wires with other Bank teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily activity with Federal Reserve Bank including ACH activity via Fedline Advantage, and incoming/outgoing wire transfers via WireXchange
- Provide customer service assistance to inquiries relating to Fed ACH activities for all Bank routing numbers
- Oversee the validation of all outgoing ACH files sent to the Fed and for incoming files for all Bank routing numbers
- Assist with the clearing of outstanding items in the daily Fed reconcilement
- Initiate and/or verify outgoing international wires through United Bankers Bank (UBB)
- Manage the daily correspondent settlement to ensure positive Fed, UBB, and FHLB balances
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve ACH/Wire payments and technical issues
- Schedule and oversee the annual ACH audit and ACH risk assessment
- Work with management to implement process improvements
- Provide monthly and quarterly reporting to management and the Board
- Manage the requirements on the NACHA website: maintains current contact information, updates required registrations for Bank and Third-Party Senders
- Act as the subject matter expert for the department. Train team how to troubleshoot, present ideas to improve efficiency and/or accuracy. Ensure department policies and procedures are up to date. Act as the point of contact for other business units to coordinate workflow and collaborate efforts
- Manage staff members. Assign work duties, measure job competence, and provide support
- Responsible for training all staff members. Create training curriculum, department manuals and training tools to obtain learning objectives. Monitor staff understanding of department and corporate training initiatives, discuss content and consistently reinforce the content learned. Work with HR and Compliance to track the completion of mandatory training
- Monitor work volumes to ensure appropriate staffing. Approve time off, track absences, manage overtime and maintain timecards. Assist with administering leaves
- Partner with HR to ensure staffing models are in-line with FTE allocation; interview and select employees; evaluate performance; provide corrective action and/or developmental plans
- Maintain communication through the utilization of coaching sessions, departmental meetings, and evaluations
Ideal Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related area
- Accredited ACH Professional Certification (AAP) and/or Accredited Payments Risk Professional Certification (APRP), preferred
- Four years of related experience with at least two years of management experience
- Strong working knowledge of NACHA formatted files, rules and regulations and ACH return item processing
- Effectively uses Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable software solutions
- Complies with organizational policies and procedures
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner
- Attends all mandatory in-services and staff meetings
- Maintains confidentiality of customer and organization information
- Maintains effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusting effectively to work with new structures, processes, requirements, or cultures
- Responsible for compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, and Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations
