Job Overview:
The Vice President of Marketing and Communications will assist the SVP of Marketing in development, oversight and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications plan that helps meet the mission and strategic goals of the company. In this role, you will provide communication and recommendations to the SVP of Marketing on key marketing and branding initiatives and will lead the creation of a consistent Internal and External messaging and branding at a corporate level. You will manage both the strategic and the tactical marketing efforts for the business and will provide overall oversight to the SVP of Marketing. 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Manage internal and external communications, corporate and investor communications, and all aspects of branding to ensure a cohesive message that is aligned with business strategies. 
  • Translate company and marketing objectives into creative strategies and campaigns. 
  • Assist in establishing pricing strategies to achieve overall objectives and greatest market share for products and services offered through the bank.
  • Direct market research to study and analyze the industry, marketplace, competitors and consumers to drive marketing and business line strategy. Ensure analysis (including cost/benefit analysis) and recommendations to business product owners are aligned with corporate marketing strategies and goals.  
  • Oversee product marketing including product launch management, presentations, sales tools, competitive analysis and general sales support and develop and manage the product marketing team and budget. 
  • Evaluate, coordinate, manage, and direct product development to provide products responsive to customer and market opportunities.
  • Negotiate and manage third party marketing contacts and resources. Provide marketing leadership and support to partners and affiliates. Evaluate requests and determine whether the work should be done internally or whether it should be outsourced.
  • Establish clear marketing objectives and measure ROI of ongoing marketing initiatives. Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs and activities.
  • Establish schedules for both long-term and short-term projects. Ensure projects stay on schedule by closely managing project deadlines through monitoring of workflows and processes.
  • Direct the activities and professional development of the Communications, Product Marketing and Creative Marketing team members. Direct employee work strategies to ensure work is completed. 
  • Effectively manage partnerships with outside agencies.
Ideal Background: 
  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience in marketing field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience in the financial or payments industry 
  • Experience with a publicly traded company
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in order to effectively work with all aspects of the organization
  • Experience managing a team
  • Ability to travel up to 50% at start, with declining travel as position progresses
