Director of Product Management

This is an opportunity to harness your product management expertise to be an influential change agent and add color to a blank canvas. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end product lifecycle for a suite of commercial travel payment solutions and wear many hats as you create and implement structure and efficiencies for the product organization. You will be responsible for the evolution of an innovative web-based billing system, data-rich transaction portal, and other travel payment related products to include setting the strategy, roadmap and feature definition. You will play a critical role as you serve as a liaison between the business side and technical side of the organization to create requirements for products, communicate them to the development team, set release cycles, and manage demo and testing processes. Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with business units and customers (both internal and external) to create requirements documents. 
  • Communicate requirements to the development team. 
  • Monitor and analyze market trends as they relate to technical payment solutions. 
  • Explore new ways of improving existing products. 
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners. 
  • Define the release process and coordinate all of the activities required to bring the product to market. 
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact. 
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes. 
  • Oversee the product life cycle and anticipate any problems. 
  • Clearly communicate vision and goals of existing and new products. 
  • Lead and participate in planning meetings and provide advice and guidance on direction of products. 
  • Demonstrate functionality of completed products to internal team members and other stakeholders. 
  • Update all stakeholders on product status. 
Ideal Background: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field 
  • 7-10+ years of product management experience, preferably in a payments related industry 
  • Three years’ experience planning and implementing projects spanning multiple business functions, preferably related to information technology. 
  • Strong organizational skills to plan, organize and schedule resources. 
  • Skill in understanding customer needs and providing quality customer service. 
  • Ability to set and define strategy. 
  • Knowledge of computer software systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project. 
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technology initiatives. 
  • Outstanding skills communicating business and technical information verbally and in writing. 
  • Fluency in English. 
  • Experience in airline or payment industry a plus. 
  • Ability to travel, some international, as needed.
