Are you a builder ready to rework the Compliance Team and processes at an established company? As Chief Compliance Officer, you will ensure all company activities meet regulatory requirements and act as the liaison with legal and regulatory agencies. After almost 20 years in business, 2018 was a record year for this FinTech company that provides full lifecycle B2B2C credit program management and servicing for both open and closed-end credit products. Over the next 3 years the company is positioned to increase revenues by 50%, and to help them continue their record of growth and success, you will:
  1. Assess the Compliance Team and processes (30 Days)
  2. Create a refresh, train, and rebuild plan (60 Days)
  3. Execute the plan (12 months)
  4. Manage and continue to enhance and build the Team and processes.

 Key Responsibilities:
  • Continue to develop, monitor, and manage the compliance policies and procedures internally and externally to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct 
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Compliance Program 
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Team of Compliance Professionals with the help of your Compliance Department Manager  
  • Administer compliance training, testing, and reporting 
  • Coordinate and conduct investigations to resolve compliance issues with various departments
  • Maintain controls for an effective compliance program and to minimize risk 
  • Collaborate with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate channels for investigation and resolution 
  • Communicate with various legal and regulatory bodies to understand current and new rulings affecting the company and its operations 
  • Provide reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep senior management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant issues, laws and regulations 
  • Ensure the Company’s policies are accurate, current, and in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Plan, execute and manage now policies as laws change 
  • Interpret and disseminate information on regulatory matters 
  • Develop and update compliance documentation and training 
  • Perform internal, client, and other third-party audits 
  • Continue to review and audit vendors for potential risk through Vendor Management Program
Ideal Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration
  • CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) certification
  • Working relationship with FDIC, OCC, and CFPB 
  • Familiarity with FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA as well as other potentially-applicable laws and regulations in the credit card and collections industry 
  • Ability to interpret regulations, laws, and disseminate information
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal, written, public speaking, and interpersonal skills
  • Word and Excel proficiency  
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environments
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism
  • Sound decision making ability  
  • Operate well under pressure   
  • Tenacious in resolving difficult problems   
  • Cooperative spirit in working with others in seeking resolution to problems   
  • Ready to review reports or other documents to identify problems   
  • Able to relate to senior management regarding difficult and complex issues
