This is an exciting opportunity to join an early-stage fintech startup whose mission is to financially empower the next generation. Only one in three millennials owns a credit card, and the vast majority of millennials possess a subprime credit score or no score at all. To address these problems and increase consumer purchasing power, this team has built an alternative payment platform that allows online stores to offer interest-free installment plans. When consumers have the option to pay for purchases over time, sales and basket sizes increase for online retailers. Plus, the online partners are paid up front, which eliminates their risk of fraud or non-payment. Since launching this alternative credit platform in 2016, the company has seen explosive growth and as a result, this Business Development Executive job has been added to help accelerate their growth even more. Because the company is so young, you have a great opportunity for your role to grow with the company. If you have experience selling payment solutions to eCommerce retailers you could be right for this exciting new opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Source potential customers and nurture them through the sales cycle
  • Initially work as a “hunter,” to attract and close new merchant customers
  • Cold call, cold email, conduct phone and in-person meetings, and attend events and conferences to accomplish sales objectives
Ideal Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in payments, software, or retail
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills 
  • Understanding of alternative payments market 
  • Proficient in Google Apps
  • Proficient in Salesforce.com and Pardot 
  • Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
  • Self-motivated
